Ammonia is an extremely toxic compound which in high enough quantities can be fatal to any living being inside your aquarium. It is produced by fish urine, uneaten fish food, dead and decaying plants and insects. By using the API Ammonia Test Strips for Freshwater and Saltwater aquariums, you can accurately find out the level of ammonia present in the water very quickly – and this test provides readings between 0 and 6ppm (parts per million).

Simply take a few minutes every week to dip the test in and make sure your fish aren't living in a harmful environment.
